Redland Koi & Pond Co was established in 2002. In 1996, we purchased the property and there shortly afterwards constructed our first pond. As a result we began looking for Koi to stock it but we unfortunately were unable to find the quality we desired in our immediate community. Subsequently we began to attend shows through out the country and established friendships and relations with the Koi community. As we began to educate ourselves and start adding Koi of distinction to our pond, friends and other Koi keepers in the area began to inquire as to where we were purchasing our fish. Our original objective was to provide high quality Koi to friends and local hobbyist and the rest is history. The farm began to grow and its popularity in the local area quickly spread. We began researching and studying Koi and began having meetings on the property to discuss Koi keeping and to teach people how to enjoy the hobby. We have since grown into the company we are today. It is truly a pleasure to see that the popularity of Koi keeping has grown and it is our intention to provide the highest quality of Nishikigoi that we can offer to our customers in an environment that will promote the hobby.

Our farm is located in the rich red clay community of the Redlands in Miami Florida. Conviently located 30 minutes from Miami International Airport. This community has a very rich history and is an ideal location for growing Koi with our wonderful year round weather. The farm is one and half acres and has tanks and natural ponds with over 200,000 gallons of water to house and raise our fish. We have all our tanks and ponds located in a tree groove of Longan trees that are native to Thailand, which creates a beautiful canopy and allows just enough natural sun light in to finish our Koi quite well. We have attempted to immulate the traditional environment from which our fish have been bred and believe that we have done so successfully.

All of our Koi are direct Japanese imports from various breeders and are shipped directly to our farm where they are quarantined and sorted by size and quality. Some of the breeders on our farm are Torazo, Marudo, Isa, Omosako, Ofuche and Dainichi to mention a few. We are very fortunate to have access to such well known breeders and are pleased to offer such high quality Nishikigoi to our customers. They are truly living jewels.

Because of our location we are able to pump spring fed water to our tanks and ponds 24 hours a day. Our mineral rich underground rivers are a constant 72 degrees year round and add that little extra that allow our Koi to truly finish to their fullest color potential. We also limit the amount of Koi per tank so that there is always enough surface area for them not to compete for food. We are currently outfitting our water disbursement systems with new Nano technology, which is state of the art and will add an additional 20 percent increase of oxygen to our water. Stay tuned for the results which will be published at a later time.
